Since I read Basho
travel diaries I have always wanted to write a haibun, i.e. a story including haikus as illustrations, comments, verfremdung elements etc; The multiple voices can combine in multiple ways and in
some aspects also reflect the balance and exchanges between internal and external lifes.
Moreover, with age I am more and more sensitive to repetitive patterns and echos in a day, whether they are sought for or only chance. This patterns that we usually reject as purely incidental or
contingent I see however as a humble but real opportunity. To see the specific flavour of each day also changes perception we can have from passing time, being neither the collection of single
instants, nor the duration or long term perspective. In that approach life can be ever-changing and stable in the same time, and offer small but real achievements.
This blog is built around the convergence of both aspects. Being daily filled out it will reflect the flavour of each day, or it should. Being written as a haibun it will contain rapidly sketched
text elements and haikus. Whether you find the result beautiful, boring, or weird please do not hesitate to let me know it.
